Rodrigo Ghattas-Pérez
With love for spiritual alchemy and creative experimentation, Rodrigo has been the driving force behind some of the most imaginative and social impact arts & culture organizations in Norway. He has helped ventures solve real-world problems through bold artistic action. Rodrigo is also a fearless and fun-loving visual artist, alchemist, and is regarded as one of the most disruptive creative directors from Peru.
Born in 1989, into a Peruvian-Palestinian family settled in the heart of Lima.
He is a multipotentialite; visual artist, spiritual coach, business mentor, creative director, experience designer, and entrepreneur. He has primarily operated beyond traditional creative spaces and formats, developing multidisciplinary public art projects investigating the contemporary status quo in knowledge, spirituality, behavior and marketing. He has been involved in initiating progressive and community-oriented organizations to explore new cooperation contracts and new economic models for creatives. His work has been predominantly showcased across Europe and in the Americas.
15+ years of experience in the field
In 2024, Rodri founded CreativeHearts World and AlqiMunay. Both organizations are aiming at championing creative abundance worldwide. Some years before, in 2020, Rodrigo co-initiated the Norwegian national grassroots initiative Verdensrommet, a mutual support network for immigrant artists in Norway. He is also a founding member of the artist-run mediation platform The Union and the indigenous-contemporary art center Machaqmara Center for the Arts. Between 2021-2022, he served as a guest consultant to the Arts Council Norway. Rodrigo has held previous positions in leadership, management and production at OSLO PILOT, Ekebergparken, OsloBiennalen, and UKS (Young Artists’ Society). Holding an MFA in Art and Public Space from Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo and a BFA with a major in Sculpture from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. In recent years, he has served as one of UKS’s deputy board members and a board member for Samspill International Music Network.
He has received institutional support for up to $450 000 to collaborate and develop creative projects with organizations such as Kultur- og likestillingsdepartement (The Royal Norwegian Ministry of Culture and Equality), Norsk Kulturråd (Arts Council Norway), European Cultural Foundation, Oslo Kommune Kulturetaten (Department of Culture Affairs, the City of Oslo), Innlandet Fylkeskommune, Nordisk Kulturkontakt (Nordic Culture Point), OCA (Office for Contemporary Art Norway), KORO (Kunst i Offentligrom / Public Art Norway), NBK (Norske Billedkunstnere / The Association of Norwegian Visual Artists), UKS (Unge Kunstneres Samfund / Young Artists’ Society), BKH (Bildende Kunstneres Hjelpefond / The Relief Fund for Visual Artists), Balansekunst (The Art of Balance), BKV (Billedkunstnernes Vederlagsfond / Norwegian Visual Artists Fund), and Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo (Oslo National Academy of the Arts).
Rodrigo is a member of several trade unions, including NBK (Norske Billedkunstnere / The Association of Norwegian Visual Artists), CREO (Forbundet for Kunst og Kultur / The Union for Arts and Culture), PAO – Performance Art Oslo, KORO (Public Art Norway)’s public art curators and art consultants network, and BIEN Norge (Grunninntekt / Basic Income Earth Network).
